We are three months away from the globe arriving in Dubai.
I’m excited. Like, very excited.
But then things are closing. People are getting scared.
I had a show geared up for Saudi. 90-day contract.
Maybe for good. I wasn’t fully ready to embark on such a long journey.
All is closed now. What do we do?
This is it. Covid hit. Lots of friends are leaving the country.
It was the most insane period of our lives.
As much as we could help friends packing up, keeping things at our place, moving things around…the fact of someone having to make life-changing decisions so short (for some, days, for others, hours) was brutal.
Health and family went on top of the list.
Building the globe for the first time
Time goes by, and we are in December.
I message Ian from Warehouse Four. A motorcycle lover as well. Something I didn’t know before reaching out to him, tho.
Now, imagine someone messaging you and asking: Can I set up a globe of death at your place?
And he said, yes! Why not?
Since the globe arrived, it had been sitting in a parking lot for 11 months, and I never had a chance to build it. I didn’t even know where to start.

We arrived in the morning. All happy… for real.
Started unloading and looking for numbers on the parts. Each part (top and bottom) is composed of 8 pieces + plates (1 at the bottom and one at the top).
Usually, I take about 5 hours to build it with the help of the crane. Ready to ride.
That day, we started around 11 am, and by 9 pm, we stopped. However…there was still work to be done. We finished the next day.

PatrĂ£o came to help. He’s a good friend and workmate in the design field. Another motorcycle lover who wanted to share a bit of adrenaline and passion for the new toy.
Ready to rumble
The globe is set. time to ride
